The Old Girls' Union
The Old Girls' Union
Since 1930, 1000 Life Members representing all decades of school life and living around the world, remain in touch with their High School through the Old Girls' Union .
Our primary aim is to promote and foster the interests of Hornsby Girls' High School and preserve its heritage. Housed in the Agnes Brewster Memorial Library is a rich source of archival material which continues to grow.
To achieve these objectives we are involved in many aspects of school life, from funding projects and providing annual prizes, to participating in school functions. We foster interest in the OGU by circulating two editions of "Nostalgia" (our newsletter) each year. We also assist organisers to help contact other students through an extensive database.
Second to keeping members informed, the OGU is committed to maintain a strong, valued tie with the school, and the Committee will continue to liaise with the Principal, Mr R Phillips and his staff and students.
The School's Budget and Finance Committee has an old girl attending the meetings to share in finance distribution matters which affect all faculties at the School.
The Committee invites you to renew your association with Hornsby Girls' as a life member of the Old Girls' Union and keep us advised of changes to your name and address so that you can keep in touch with your school and friends as well as activities at Hornsby Girls' High School
Many girls have joined in their last year at school after six years of shared experiences – others have taken 10 or more years to join us – it is never too late. Often, old girls hear of our Old Girls' Union whilst attending their year reunion. Year reunions are popular and the Old Girls' Union is available to attend these occasions to enlighten guests of the school's news and provide memorabilia.
